Alexander Lukashenko: We consider the Krasnodar Territory as a key region for cooperation

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko met with the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratyev at the Palace of Independence.

Alexander Lukashenko outlined the key role of the Krasnodar Territory in expanding cooperation with other territories of Russia.

«The formula is simple, the reason why we were deeply interested in your visit to Belarus is clear. The Krasnodar Territory is a breadwinner, the leading region of the Russian Federation in all respects. We regard Kuban as a key region where we should ‘put down roots’.

Cooperation can go in all directions: agriculture, machine building, for example, elevators. We want to create a certain hub for interaction of several large centers in Russia to produce machinery together,» said Alexander Lukashenko.

Veniamin Kondratyev emphasized that the Republic of Belarus is a long-standing and strategic partner for the Krasnodar Territory.

«We have been working together for more than 20 years, but our cooperation has reached a new level last year and this year. It is based on strong friendship, mutual respect and common history. Despite unprecedented sanctions, trade and economic ties between us have only become stronger. We have developed a roadmap, and today we are no longer talking about intentions, but about specific results of our negotiations. We have met with our Belarusian colleagues many times, signed a number of agreements. I am confident that this visit will give a new impetus to mutually beneficial contacts,» said Veniamin Kondratyev.

The Republic and the Territory are developing joint production facilities for the assembly of tractors, combines and special equipment. There are prospects for cooperation in tourism, construction, and passenger transport.

During the current visit, the delegation concluded four agreements, primarily on cooperation between the Krasnodar Territory and the Government of Belarus. Among the priority areas are trade, tourism, and industrial cooperation.
